Experience the wonderful Haarlem way of life…

Welcome to wonderful Haarlem – a lively, medieval city just a 20 minute drive from Amsterdam. Once a trading port and quiet residential city, Haarlem has come alive in the last decade thanks to an explosion of cafe, bar and restaurant openings. Today, Haarlem is where you can enjoy Amsterdam’s famous coffee culture, boutique shopping, local craft brews and of course lots of delicious food.

Our 3.5 hour walking tour takes you to the old working-class neighbourhoods where you’ll find markets and speciality food shops serving up the tastiest snacks.

From a fishmonger at the famous Grote Markt town square, to a cheese enthusiast running his own store, you’ll meet the locals who are playing a part in Haarlem’s culinary boom.

You’ll enjoy seven authentic tasting stops and hear fascinating facts and stories to enhance your experience while you eat, drink and explore this beautiful city.

Aileen was really great with us, she waited for us though we arrived almost an hour late due to traffic! She showed us beautiful things, we tasted awesome and tasty cuisines, and I also learned a few words (lekker!!). Thank you for your kindness and happiness despite the rain! The city really is beautiful and full of wonders when you know where to look at 🙂

Our guide, DJ, was great! He was very knowledgeable and personable. We had just the right amount of time at each place and didn’t feel rushed. Good choices of foods to sample.

- Stephanie Bergsma

Fantastic and knowledgeable tour guide and of course we loved the food.
