Half-Berliner, half-Brit. Berlin is the amazing city I call home!
My favourite dessert is a Spritzkuchen, it’s an eggy German donut covered in icing sugar.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a food tour in Berlin worth it?

Absolutely! There’s no better way to experience the beautiful city of Berlin and its culture than a food tour with a local guide.

What food is Berlin famous for?

There are so many delicious dishes, but two of the most iconic Berlin foods are currywurst and eisbein. Currywurst is an iconic treat made from pork sausage and curry powder. Eisbein—which translates to “ice leg”—is a traditional German dish that’s pickled ham hock that’s cured, boiled, then roasted. It’s typically served with Sauerkraut and potatoes.

Do the tours accommodate vegetarian or gluten-free diets?

All of our food tours are vegetarian friendly. However, it may not always be possible to serve vegan, gluten-free, or kosher foods at many tour stops. Please notify us of any dietary restrictions upon booking so we can try to accommodate your needs.

I’m traveling alone. Do you offer single tickets or just group sales?

We love welcoming solo travelers! All of our tours are open to individual guests.

What is Eating Europe’s cancellation policy?

Private tours can be cancelled and fully refunded up to 7 days before tour departure. Small group tours can be cancelled and refunded up to 24 hours before tour departure. See our complete cancellation policy here.

Does Berlin have good food?

Of course! Berlin is a city with a rich and diverse culinary history. There are so many delicious food to try, including döner kebab (Turkish meat dish), kartoffelpuffer (potato pancakes), berliner pfannkuche (a sweet, donut-like treat), and so much more.

What’s included in the price of the food tour?

All food and drinks are included in the price you pay for the tour. Some tours may have the option to upgrade to a more luxurious drink package.

My family and I have been on many Eating Europe food tours and we were excited to explore East Berlin with Clara as our guide today! We learned so much and tasted so many delicious foods and drinks at places we likely wouldn’t have found on our own! Highly recommend to anyone who’s excited to dive into Berlin’s local food, beer and culture.

Interesting tour of the food culture and history around East Berlin. It’s an edgy part of the City - shows the alternative side of Berlin. As we went on a Sunday - visited lots of Flea markets and shown where the interesting Clubs were. Tasted lots of food that presented the many immigrants to Germany over the period. Well worth tour. Lots of tastings and walking - go hungry in a good pair of walking shoes!

Our booking could have canceled because there were just two of us, but instead we probably got the best tour ever! The food was delicious. It was great experiencing foods from the different cultures represented in Berlin. The drinks were equally as great and may have found new beer drinks for my cousin who didn’t like beer at all. However, the best part of the tour was Clara!! She was so knowledgeable about the history of East Berlin, Berlin in general, and the various war times in the country. She was patient with all of our picture stops. I can’t express my gratitude enough for showing us a unique piece of Berlin history

Clara was an awesome guide! Explored parts of Berlin we wouldn't have otherwise and likewise tried a heap of delicious food we wouldn't have found on our own. She even let us have a little shopping detour after we spotted a couple of cute boutiques. 11/10 would recommend.

This was a great tour that exceeded our expectations. We have done several food tours and expected this one to be similar to the others. We got a great sampling of Berlin food and drinks but also had an interesting historical tour of East Berlin and got to see a real community outside of the tourist downtown areas.

Our tour leader was Clara and she was amazing! She was fabulous at explaining the complex history of Berlin, as well as explaining what we were eating and drinking!
The food was all delicious and gave us a great idea of how multicultural Berlin is!
The area that the tour takes place is really cool and not somewhere we would have known to go on our own!
Well worth the money, and a great activity that shouldn’t be missed whilst visiting Berlin!
