Bernardo was fantastic! He showed us the best parts of Amsterdam and explained the history behind everything as went. The food was amazing, and the boat tour at the end was a great way to finish the experience. Highly recommend!

We had a great experience on the Jordaan Food Tour which was led by Danielle who was so passionate & enthusiastic that the love for her town really shone through. Not only did she convey the origin of the foods we sampled, but she also explained the history & architecture of Amsterdam & the Jordaan neighborhood as we walked along. The group is kept small so it was easy to hear her as she walked us through the neighborhood. Some stops were a little lengthier in time allowing us time to sit down & rest weary bones while getting to know others in the group.
The company running the tour is set up well. The website is informative & easy to navigate & tickets can be downloaded to Google Wallet. Thorough communication is sent via email & text. As a matter-of-fact, the day before our tour, I got a text asking if I was able to reschedule to an earlier time. The entire conversation only took a few messages to get everything squared away before the new tickets were available for download.
All in all, a great experience that encourages me to use "Eating Europe" at future destinations. Their 5-star rating is well deserved! Kudos!

Jacopo was a fantastic guide. We enjoyed the information he gave us on Amsterdam and our food stops. The food stops were excellent with a nice pace. We started with small appetizer samples Bittenballen, wine and cheese, pickled herring, and kibbling .. then progressed to more entree’ samples Chicken Satay and Pita Kapsalon. We ended with the best Dutch Apple Pie. It was a full meal, we had no need for dinner after. I do food tours in every new country I visit and this was one of the best! I highly recommend Eating Europe Food Tours.

Our tour was led by Stephanie Smook. Great experience and food. It was lovely walking into each brown pub, shop, or cafe and seeing the immediate warmth between the owner/staff and our guide. The history was insightful. The walking was the right amount. The food was fantastic. You don’t need to be a foodie, just open to trying quality local traditional food away from the tourist traps. Stephanie was outgoing, energetic, and made everyone feel comfortable, and curious.

Danielle was a fantastic tour guide. She was a wealth of knowledge and had very entertaining stories. All the food establishments were very inviting and the food was fantastic. I am gluten free and Danielle made several accommodations for that as well. I would highly recommend Danielle and Eating European Tours.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour we took with Danielle. She is a hoot! We love the establishments she chose and that she was able to ensure we (both vegetarians) had options. At one place they made us vegetarian bitterballen, which was something I did not know could be done and a very pleasant surprise! Otherwise, we had apple pie, canelés, cheese and soup. All were delicious, with the canelés being outstanding. We also learned some Dutch history and culture, and had plenty of opportunities to ask questions. Highly recommend this tour!

The tour was lovely! The history and food were both wonderful! Our guide was a former teacher. She did a great job teaching us Dutch words and phrases, helping us understand culture, all while walking & cruising Amsterdam. It was a great introduction to the city!

Great tour, Paul was a fantastic guide!! He told us lots about the city, fun facts about buildings, teaching us about the food and the local culture! He made it fun and handled last minute changes (like one of our guests having a gluten intolerance that was not listed on the sign up). He made sure she was cared for all along. He was fun and funny! I highly recommend the tour company but if you can request Paul- do it!!

We had the absolute best time with Paul on our Amsterdam tour! He was not only incredibly knowledgeable and engaging but also went above and beyond to accommodate my gluten allergy, which is no small feat when you’re sampling your way through the city!
Paul made the experience effortless and fun, showing us hidden gems, local favorites, and stories we never would’ve discovered on our own. His attention to detail and genuine care for everyone in our group made the tour feel personal and unforgettable.
If you’re visiting Amsterdam, book with Paul—you’ll laugh, learn, and eat safely like a local.

I'm from Leiden, I lived in the Jordaan for five years and now live in the beautiful Zaan region.
My favourite spot for Dutch pancakes is restaurant Upstairs on the Grimburgwal. Cheese, bacon and syrup are the holy trinity!
Exploring the historical Jewish quarter to the east of the city center, with the old Portuguese synagogue, Rembrandt's house and the Resistance Museum is a great way to learn about a lesser-known side of Amsterdam's history and culture.
