A glimpse into Prague’s old-world traditions….
Many tourists don’t know much about Prague beyond its domed churches and famous historic castle. It’s a city waiting to be discovered – full of mystery and fascinating history. With old architecture dating back to the 11th century, the Old Town (Staré Mesto) is a great place to get a glimpse of Prague’s medieval past. However, you can’t get a true picture of daily life in the city without also exploring its New Town and local traditions. That’s how you’ll discover how the country has developed, changed, and in parts, stayed the same.
Our 3.5-hour walking food tour explores the intricacies of Czech history and culture through its cuisine. We take you behind the scenes at locally-loved food spots to meet the people keeping the city’s food traditions alive. You’ll get a unique glimpse of daily life as we wander the streets and stop to eat at bistros, bakeries, and even butcher shops along the way.
Soak up some serious history in a café that dates back to the beginning of the 20th century and has played host to dozens of famous historical figures. Taste freshly brewed pivo (beer) from a local brewery – that is also a boat! And leave knowing the real reason why Prague is famous for its open-faced sandwiches! Your local guide will explain the stories behind everything you eat, plus you’ll uncover hidden churches, contemporary art and local treasures folded into side streets as you walk.
