Neapolitan pizza, sfogliatella, and rum baba are just some of the dishes on everyone’s list ahead of a trip to Naples. However, if you’re a plant-based foodie, you might be feeling a little apprehensive about your options for your pending visit!
Although many of the dishes on my Naples food tours aren’t necessarily vegan-friendly, you’ll be relieved to know you won’t have to look too hard to find suitable foods. In recent years, the number of vegan restaurants in Naples, Italy, has steadily grown, and I’ve put together this list of the ones you have to check out!
Vegan Food Scene in Naples
I never expected to stumble upon so many vegan restaurants in Naples, and after many visits to the city, I’ve made it to quite a few of them.
Some specialize in vegan versions of classic Italian dishes, and these days, you’ll sometimes come across everything from dairy-free gelato to plant-based lasagna. Fortunately, ingredients such as tomatoes, pasta, olive oil, and garlic are frequently used in Neapolitan cooking, making it relatively easy to enjoy plant-based dining.
There are also plenty of eateries focusing on flavors from other cuisines. In essence, no matter what you’re craving, you’ll likely be able to find a plant-based alternative somewhere in the city!
It’s also worth noting that while some restaurants are fully vegan or vegetarian, others cater to meat-eaters but have suitable options for those who prefer to avoid animal products.

Officina Vegana

I’m kicking off this list of recommended restaurants with Officina Vegana in the port area, a super casual joint with a deli-style set-up. After hearing positive personal experiences and reviews from a few friends, I decided to stop by for something light.
The hearty farifrittata was my lunch of choice, and it was stuffed with tender potato wedges and fresh greens. Their creamy, bittersweet tiramisu is among their best-sellers, so naturally, I had to get one to go!

This bright and stylish haunt is a haven for anyone with specific dietary requirements, and the menu is brimming with incredible dishes. I started with the zesty soya-based meatballs and followed this up with spaghetti doused in subtly sweet zucchini cream and crunchy almonds.

Green M’ama is nestled on a bustling street near the Quartieri Spagnoli. It’s a quirky spot with an Instagram-ready interior and a diverse menu, and the sandwiches here are particularly popular. I decided to sample the vegan pulled pork-style panino, which was even more delicious than I’d expected.
The tender, soy-based filling was covered in a smokey barbecue sauce alongside a helping of nutty guacamole. This sandwich also came with zingy tomatoes and peppery arugula, which added a touch of brightness to the dish.
